Letter from the Superintendent
A June Star Tribune article headline said, “Despite more funding from state, some Minnesota school districts still face big budget cuts.” Boy, that fits us at Watertown-Mayer Public Schools. We have been making some budget reductions and spending down our fund balance (district savings account) for the last several years, but without new revenue, we’ll need to reduce our budget by $1.5 million over the next three years. At the same time, we have some facilities challenges that need attention.
